So I've been in Korea for almost a year now and when I first came here I was like, "Right on! I'm going to one of the cultural and artistic capitals of the world, next to Japan and Europe!" Since I've been here, I've seen much of the art and culture, but I was surprised to realize that since the westernization of this country by way of the U.S. Army and many of the English and Australian teaches here that the artistic and creative value of this country has dropped immensely and seems to have no end to this downward spiral in sight. I just hope for this countries sake and their sake of art, along with the rest of the eastern hemisphere, that the country stays at a comfortable level between eastern art and western advertising, because if it gets any worse, Seoul will turn into an overcrowded version of Las Vegas. I just wanted to speak my mind for the good of the art community. Peace, love, conserve water, and all that good bullshit!
